The fibres used in Japanese Washi paper are sourced from grasses and trees across the globe—primarily abaca and softwood species. As forests renew themselves, older trees that have reduced capacity for absorbing CO₂ are thoughtfully harvested and repurposed, much like the natural cycle of generations.
